If you like dark shows like Ozark, but a teen drama is more your speed check out this show. Euphoria is based on the adaption of an Israeli show by a similar name. Gritty and hard-hitting this show is not for the faint of heart. All that darkness is alleviated by an endearing older sister to the struggling addict that you can’t help but root for. Even if you are not a teen don’t be afraid to give this show a try. The nihilistic hedonism and complex characters make it a riveting watch for anyone.

4. Succession

Family drama, humor, and relationships. If that’s what you like out of a TV show check out Succession. Logan Roy is the head of an international media conglomerate. His family wants him to step aside and let them be in charge. This show is darkly funny, has stellar acting and you find yourself sympathizing with even the most unlikable of the characters.

5. Peaky Blinders

If you want to combine the dark drama of some of these shows with the historical nature of others you might want to check out Peaky Blinders. This show is a historical drama set in the aftermath of WW1. The name refers to a local gang. It’s a story of a man named Thomas Shelby. He realizes that he can make more money going legit but there is a certain Mr. Chester Campbell whose goal of ridding the streets of crime that might stand in the way.
